This past weekend, there was a bit of a hidden agenda. It has been 15 years since Cheryl met breast cancer & fought it off. Our family went through a lot to get her cancer free, and Cheryl sacrificed her hair, her energy, and much of her time to make sure she was here for our family for years to come.
Knowing it was her 15th anniversary, I emailed our family a few months ago to get this set up. Every year, Cheryl & I walk in the Especially for You Breast Cancer Walk at Mercy hospital, but this year, I arranged for my dad, Greg, his girlfriend, Breezy, Brad & I, my mom & Pete and a bunch of our friends to walk in it. Anthony & Megan were supposed to, but they had to stay in Chicago & get ready for the start of Anthony's new job.
The weekend as a whole was a HUGE success- we had a limo pick us up & take us downtown, we all walked together 3.2 miles and we all had a GREAT breakfast once we got back to Dad & Cheryl's!
It was the best way I could think of to celebrate Cheryl's 15th anniversary of being Cancer FREE!!!
